Road Trip: South - i95 trip
Day 9: Friday, November 18, 2011 - Raleigh, NC
Breakfast was good.
We went to the North Carolina Museum of History. We toured a number of areas including pictures regarding child labor, NC
sports, NC in the Civil War (excuse me, "Northern Aggression") and World Wars, and a couple other displays.
Don't remember and I'm not really sure why we don't have any pictures from this museum.
For lunch, we walked to The Pit. Again, a location we thank Adam Richmond and
Man vs. Food for. This restaurant probably had the best tasting
barbeque of the trip. I ordered the barbeque chicken and pulled pork. Linda had the pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato
fries. The pulled pork was essentially plain, and there were a couple sauces on the table to put on it. I tried some of
it without anything extra and it was moist and flavorful - I could really taste the smokieness in the meat. Yummy.

After lunch we walked to the Raleigh City Museum. It was small, but educational.
After the RCM, we made our way toward the capitol building.
Statue of George Washington (seen above)
Street view with above statue at my back.
We made our way inside. The Governor was actually there, though we didn't get to see her. We viewed
the couple floors that were available.
Capitol rotunda.
Another George Washington statue.
The House (or Senate).
The Senate (or House, whichever the above isn't), probably, based on the seating as Senates usually have fewer representatives than Houses do.
The capitol library.
After the capitol, we made our way to the car. Before heading to Richmond, we had one more important stop to make. This time it was at Time Out in Durham. Again, a location we thank Adam and Man vs. Food for. We were on a mission to acquire "Chicken and Cheddar Biscuits". While checking out, we met the owner and chatted with him for a couple minutes. We took our biscuits to the hotel - which was still three hours away. They were still fairly warm when we arrived. The biscuits were really good, and I'm certain they would have been even better fresh. Alas, I neglected to get a photo... :-(
We relaxed in the room until it was bedtime.
